MICRO PIGS

New for 2010

We have been very lucky last year and have got our selves a little herd of micro pigs, these pigs have come from the original UK creator of the micro pig. These are great little animals and from my own personal experience have found them very similar to owing a dog, like our dogs they love having their tummy scratched and will come when called. They are incredibly intelligent animals and extremely clean. These little pigs will grow to approx knee high, similar to and average size dog. They do not mess in there sleeping quarters and can be house trained if you wish for your piggy to be in your home.

ALL PIGLETS WILL BE VET CHECKED, WORMED AND MICRO CHIPPED BEFORE GOING TO THEIR NEW HOME

we have had our first piglets born, see picture above, on the 24th december 2009, and we currently have two males (castrated) and one female for sale - AS AT 14TH JANUARY 2010

REQUIREMENTS FOR KEEPING PIGS

You will need a holding number to be able to keep a pig, this is free of charge and can be obtained from the Rural Payments Agency 0845 6037777

Even if you intend to keep your pig inside they must have access to the outside, make sure you have good fencing, a strand of barbed wire running along the bottom of the fence will deter pigs from rooting under the fence.

If kept outside make sure they have adequate draft free housing with plenty of straw

Ensure you have a vets which can deal with your pig, pigs need worming every six months.

Access to plenty of clean fresh water, pigs drink lots of water. Our pigs are fed twice a day on sow nuts, which can be obtained from ourselves or your local agriculteral feed retailer.
