All our hens are sold from 16 weeks. All Hens are Fully Vaccinated and regulary wormed. Hens are housed indoors to view and choose from, so no need to worry about the weather. Take your time from a wide range of hens to choose from. Different types of hybrids can be mixed together.

Flight feathers can be trimmed if required and we can show you how do this for the future, although we are happy for you to bring back your hens to be re-trimmed at no extra charge. You will need to bring a cardboard box or purchase a cardboard carrier from us to take you hens home.

For health of the hens we only sell from February to October. Full advice will be given upon taking your hens home, but try to read our pages on looking after your hens.

Hens all lay between 280 - 300 eggs in their first year.

Merrydale Sweetie
Always a family favourite, the Sweetie is an inquisitive and lovely natured hen, hence her name "sweetie". Can either be cream feather or cream with tan flecks.

Lovely looking hen with a dark black feathering with sliver flecks running through the chest and neck feathers. Feathers take on a silky soft feel.

Chalkhill blue
A great little hen, comes in a variety of colours from creams to dark brown.

100% of hens will lay a blue or green shelled egg, occasionally they will lay a cream or pastel coloured egg.

• Coccidiosis Dependent on site, treatment varies from proactive use of Coxivex to Paracox. Suspected clinical signs treated with Baycox

• Infectious Bronchitis Variant strain primers in drinking water and depending on local challenges sprayed on day old chicks. Inactivated injection (5 in 1)

• Salmonella Multiple treatment in drinking water with Gallivac SE. Regular samples taken from environment including chick transport boxes and pullet transport modules, all sent for analysis.

• Infectious Bursal Disease Multiple treatment of drinking water with IBD D78.

• Newcastle Disease Variant strain primers in drinking water plus inactivated injection (5 in 1).
